Comparison of Autonomous Orbit Determination for Satellite Pairs in Lunar Halo and Distant Retrograde Orbits

Summary A comprehensive study on the autonomous orbit determination (AOD) performance of satellite pairs in halo orbits and distant retrograde (DROs) is carried out. factor called dynamic geometric dilution precision (DAGDOP) proposed to simultaneously incorporate influences from dynamics geometry pairs. Based DAGDOP, effect different observation arcs AOD accuracy investigated. Next, three types pairs—halo+halo, DRO+DRO, halo+DRO—is systematically analyzed. The hybrid halo+DRO type shows best overall accuracy. Finally, verified a realistic model. Our studies find that average about 170 meters, DRO 190 meters. relative time synchronization error two satellites less than 30 nanoseconds.
